Launching an MRI Scanner Appeal will help Mid Cheshire Hospitals Trust to save more lives aswell as enhance the patient experience at Leighton Hospital.
This will be in addition to the existing MRI Scanner which will provide the capacity to further serve the local community and help ensure patients continue to receive first-class healthcare.
The necessary infrastructure and workforce will need to also be provided and as such, the £1million appeal will be supported by an additional contribution of £1.57 million from the Trust.
The decision to procure and install an additional MRI Scanner was taken due to the shortfall in MRI scanning capacity, with 30 patients a day being scanned between 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. The need to address the shortfall in capacity is essential in order to continue to deliver first-class healthcare and help save more lives within the area of Cheshire.
Successfully funding the £1 million target and procuring the additional MRI Scanner will provide a number of benefits to patients, staff and the Trust, along with supporting the charity vision ‘to raise funds to support the provision of first-class healthcare’.
